H.E. Deeq Abdiaziz Jidaal was born on 19 February 2002 in Buuhoodle, Togdheer region. He completed his primary and secondary education in Somaliland, attending schools in Lascanood and Mogadishu respectively.

He pursued higher education abroad, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Security and Strategic Studies from the Faculty of Security Studies, Eldoret University, Kenya, and completing a Master’s degree in Security and Strategic Studies from the Faculty of Political Science and Security, University of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Minister Jidaal holds four different citizenships and has extensive professional experience working with various institutions, including the Police, Immigration, and Intelligence agencies. He also holds passports from Somaliland, Netherlands, Kenya, and Switzerland.

He was appointed as Minister of Internal Security of the Republic of Somaliland in 2024 by the President, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi – Cirro. His career combines strong academic knowledge with hands-on experience in national security, law enforcement, and strategic governance.
