Hon. Munasar Abdirahman Ahmed was born on 15 May 2001 in Mogadishu, Somalia. He completed his early primary education in Mogadishu before relocating to Somaliland, where he pursued his secondary education in Hargeisa. He went on to specialize in security and strategic studies, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Security and Conflict Studies from Gollis University, Hargeisa, Somaliland. He furthered his education abroad, obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Intelligence & Security Management from the Turkish Police Academy, Ankara, followed by a Master’s degree in Security and Strategic Studies from University of Nairobi, Kenya.

Prior to his appointment in government, Hon. Munasar gained extensive professional experience in various security-related sectors, including national security coordination projects, counter-terrorism research and programs, and collaboration with intelligence and law enforcement agencies. His work combines strong academic knowledge with hands-on experience in policy advisory, media relations, and strategic governance.

In 2024, Hon. Munasar Abdirahman Ahmed was appointed State Minister of Internal Security of the Republic of Somaliland by the President, where he contributes to policy development, internal stability, and institutional capacity building. He actively engages with the public through social media to promote transparency, security awareness, and citizen outreach.
